Gauge: 1 diagram = approx. 9 cm in width. 12 rows of Pattern 2 = approx. 10 cm in height.

Pattern: See chart . The pattern is seen from the right side. The chart is placed sideways on the page with the bottom of the chart closest to the inner edge of the page. «1 rapport» = «1 repeat».

= ch 1
= 1 sc
= 1 sl st
= 1 dc

= 1 bobble. * wrap yarn around hook, insert hook in sc from previous row and pull up yarn *, repeat * - * 3 times = 6 loops + 1 st on hook. Wrap yarn around hook and pull through all loops + st (= 1 st remains on hook).

= 1 petal. (4 petals make 1 flower). Start at point of arrow, * wrap yarn around hook, insert hook in st at the other end of arrow and pull up yarn *, repeat * - * 3 times = 6 loops + 1 st on hook. Wrap yarn around hook and pull through all loops and st on hook (= 1 st remains on hook).

= ch 1 to turn piece.

Note: All measurements in pattern refer to the garment when held up or worn, because the pattern pulls in and lengthens.

Body: Ch 201-241 loosely. Turn and crochet Pattern 1 once across row (10-12 repeats = 60-72 ch-st bows). Then crochet Pattern 2 on the next row and repeat a total of 5 times, the piece measures approx. 20 cm . Crochet Pattern 3. At the same time when the piece measures approx. 32-35 cm divide and crochet each part of Body separately. Each front = 2 repeats; back = 4 repeats, bind off 1-2 repeats at each side for armhole.

Right front: Continue with Pattern 3 over 2 repeats starting at center front. When the piece measures approx. 42-46 cm (adjust to finish after 1 flower) continue with Pattern 3 but do not make flowers. At the same time shape the neck as follows: Crochet until 2 ch-st bows remain at center front. Turn and crochet back. Then crochet over 1 less ch-st bow at neck edge of every other row 3 times. Continue to crochet in pattern until the piece measures 52-56 cm , fasten off.

Left front: Crochet the same as right front, reversing all shaping.

Back: Continue to crochet Pattern 3 until piece measures approx. 42-46 cm , then crochet the rest without flowers (as on front). When the piece measures approx. 49-53 cm crochet the next row as follows: 7 ch-st bows = shoulder, sc over the following 10 ch-st bows = neck (crochet 1 sc in every ch-st bow and 1 sc in every sc between bows), 7 ch-st bows = shoulder. Finish with 1 row of ch-st bows on each shoulder. The piece measures approx. 52-56 cm , fasten off.

Sleeve: Ch 51-51 loosely. Turn and crochet Pattern 1 once across row (2.5 repeats = 15 ch-st bows), then crochet Pattern 2 twice, then continue in Pattern 3. When the piece measures approx. 10 cm inc 1 ch-st bow at end of row on alternately right and left side of piece a total of 8-10 times alternately every 3 and 4 rows - make inc by ch 4, then 1 sc in the last sc from previous row = 23-25 ch-st bows on row. Continue until piece measures approx. 52-54 cm . Then crochet over 1 less ch-st bow at end of every row until the piece measures 56-58 cm , fasten off.

Assembly: Crochet together shoulder seams as follows: * 1 sc in first ch-st bow on front, ch 1, 1 sc in first ch-st bow on back, ch 1 *, repeat from * - * on each shoulder. Crochet together the sleeve as follows from bottom edge: * 1 sc in one side, ch 2, 1 sc in *, repeat from * - * until approx. 5-9 cm remains. Crochet sleeves to Body in the same way as sleeves were crocheted together. Crochet 1 row sc along both button bands and around the neck - crochet snugly around the neck so that the neckline will not sag.

Buttonhole loops: Make 3 buttonhole loops along right front. Start at top edge: * 1 sc, ch 3, fasten with 1 sc 1 cm below, sl st approx. 8-9 cm lower on band * repeat from * - * until there are 3 loops. Sew on buttons on left front.

Materials:
Steel hook 0.90 mm (BATES 13)
800gr. of cotton thread Patons, No.15
Thread size:
50 gr.=330m
Finishing Materials:
Tapestry needle
Finished Size: 57 cm wide - 87 cm long
Gauge: The motif measures 5,50 cm across. Be sure to check your gauge before starting garment. Use any size hook which will obtain the motif measurements above.
Directions:
Motif:
Rnd 1: 9 ch, sl st into the first ch to form a ring. Ch 3 (counts as first dc), make 15 dc into the ring; sl st into the 3rd ch of the first dc.
Rnd 2: 6 ch, make a trc into the top of the next stich; *2 ch, trc in the next stich; repeat from * around (13 more times); then 2 ch, sl st into 4th ch of the original ch-6 made at the beginning of this round (there are now 16 spaces around).
Rnd 3: sl st into the next space; 4 ch, make 3 trc into the same space, *make 4 trc into the next space, repeat from * around (14 more times); sl st into the 4th ch of the original ch-4 made at the beginning of this round.
Rnd 4: 3 ch, dc into the joining space; *4 ch, skip 3 trc, make 2 dc into the next stich; repeat from * 14 times more; 4 ch, sl st into the 3rd ch of the original ch-3 made at the beginning of this round.
Rnd 5: 3 ch, dc into the joining space; 3 ch, make 2 dc into the next stich; *1 sc over the ch-4 loop, 2 dc into the next stich, ch 3, 2 dc into the next stich; repeat from * 14 more times; then sc over the last ch-4 loop, sl st into the 3rd ch of the original ch-3 made at the beginning of the round. Fasten off and secure ends.
Joining motifs and creating filler pattern:
Motifs can be joined together while crocheting the last round. First, complete one motif entirely. Then in working the last round on subsequent motifs, join as follows:
When doing the "ch 3" to form a point on the currently worked motif, ch 1, sl st into the ch-3 space on the second motif, then ch1 again and continue with the 2 dc on the current motif (according to the pattern-rnd 5). Do the same on the next point, joining it to the matching ch-3 space on the second motif. Follow this technique and create an entire strip of motifs. Then create a second strip similarly and use the "sewing technique" to attach the matching points of the two strips together. You have 16 points on each motif. Join two on the upper part, two on the righ, 2 on the left and 2 down on each big circle motif. There are 8 points left to fill the spaces. Once all the desired motifs have been crocheted and joined, create the filler pattern as follows:
Note:
This pattern will be done in every large space that exists at the joining of four motifs. There will be 2 points on each of the joined motifs - 8 points total - that will have to be "filled in and joined" via the special filler pattern.
Ch 5, sl st into the first ch to form a ring. Do 8 single crochet stiches into the ring; *ch 4, sl st into the ch-3 point of a motif, ch 4, sl st into the single crochet of the filler pattern. Repeat from * seven more times, creating a chain that connects to every one of the 8 points.
Finishing:
Make 10 motifs wide by 16 long for back, 4 motifs wide by 16 motifs long for left front and same for right front, 8 motifs wide and 9 motifs long for each sleeve. There are no sewing, just join the motifs as I described. You'll notice 2 holes under both arms. Fill it with 2 filler motifs. 3 points of each of these 2 "filler motifs" are joined with a big motif, but 1 point is joined with the other point of the second "filler motif". When you finish the cardigan, put the wet towel on it and iron it (especialy the edges).

Crochet gauge: 10 tc x 4.5 rows with 1 strand Muskat + 1 strand Viscose = 10 x 10 cm.

Crochet 1 tc in each tc from previous row – do not crochet between tc.

Crochet info-2: Front, back and sleeves are first crocheted in the round and then back and forth, so there is a small structural change.

Stripes: Crochet 2 rows in each color combination.

Stripe pattern-Body:
Burgundy Muskat nr 41+ rust Cotton Viscose.
Coral Muskat nr 40 + rust Cotton Viscose.
Red Muskat nr 12 + rust Cotton Viscose.
Rust Muskat nr 21 + rust Cotton Viscose.
Dark orange Muskat nr 49 + rust Cotton Viscose.
Coral Muskat nr 40 + rust Cotton Viscose.
Red Muskat nr 12 + rust Cotton Viscose.
The piece measures approx. 31 cm.
Repeat stripes to finished measurements.

Stripe pattern-sleeve:
Burgundy Muskat nr 41 + rust Cotton Viscose.
Rust Muskat nr 21 + rust Cotton Viscose.

Rust Muskat nr 21 + rust Cotton Viscose.
The piece measures approx. 45 cm. Crochet the rest of sleeves with red Muskat nr 12 + rust Cotton Viscose.

Decreasing tips: Bind off as follows:
At beginning of row: Replace 1 tc with 1 sl st (for each tc you wish to bind off).
At the end of the row: Turn piece when the number of tc you want to bind off remains, then crochet back.

Body: Ch 120-132-144-159-174 with 1 strand burgundy Muskat + 1 strand Cotton Viscose and join into a ring with 1 sl st in 1st ch.
Follow Stripe pattern-Body – see instructions above. Row 1: Crochet 1 tc in each ch but skip over every 3rd ch across the row = 80-88-96-106-116 tc on row. Place a marker at each side = 40-44-48-53-58 tc between markers. Then crochet around with 1 tc in each tc – see Crochet info-1.When the piece measures 15 and 25 cm inc 1 tc at each side of each marker – inc 1 tc by crocheting 2 tc in 1 tc = 88-96-104-114-124 tc on row.
When the piece measures 33-34-35-36-37 cm crochet the next row as follows: 1 sl st in each of the first 4 tc, 38-42-46-51-56 tc, turn piece and crochet back. Crochet Front and Back separately – read Crochet info-2.

Front: = 38-42-46-51-56 tc. Bind off for armhole at each side every row – see decreasing tips: 2 tc 0-0-1-2-3 times and 1 tc 1-2-2-2-2 times = 36-38-38-39-40 tc. When the piece measures approx. 43-45-47-49-51 cm (adjust so that 2 complete stripes remain – 4 rows before finished measurements) bind off for the neck as follows: Crochet 11-12-12-12-12 tc, turn the piece and crochet back. Bind off 1 tc at neck edge every row – see decreasing tips: 3 times = 8-9-9-9-9 tc remain on shoulder. Cut yarn when the piece measures 52-54-56-58-60 cm.
Repeat on the other side.

Back: Crochet 1 sl st in each of the first 4 tc after the marker, 38-42-46-51-56 tc, turn piece and crochet back (= 6 tc bound off at each side).
Bind off for armhole as on front = 36-38-38-39-40 tc. When the piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm (1 row remains) crochet 1 row over only 8-9-9-9-9 tc at each side (do not crochet over the center 20-20-20-21-22 sts = neckband). Cut yarn, the piece measures approx. 52-54-56-58-60 cm.

Sleeve: Ch 42-45-45-48-51 with 1 strand burgundy Muskat + 1 strand Cotton Viscose and join into a ring with 1 sl st. Follow Stripe pattern-sleeve – see instructions above.
Row 1: Crochet 1 tc in every ch but skip over every 3rd ch across row = 28-30-30-32-34 tc on row.
Place a marker at the beginning of row. Crochet around with 1 tc in each tc from previous row.
When the piece measures 20 cm inc 1 tc at each side of the marker approx. every 8-8-5-4-4 cm a total of 4-4-5-6-6 times – inc 1 tc by crocheting 2 tc in 1 tc = 36-38-40-44-46 tc.
When sleeve measures 48-47-45-44-42 cm crochet the next row as follows: 1 sl st in each of the first 4 tc, 30-32-34-38-40 tc, turn piece and crochet back. Now bind off for sleeve cap every row – see decreasing tips: bind off 2 tc at each side until the piece measures 56 cm.

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams edge to edge.
Neckband: Crochet 1 row tc around the neck with 1 strand red Muskat nr 12 + 1 strand Cotton Viscose. Sew in sleeves edge to edge.
